Hi, I am a Storyteller.
My name is Courtney Murphy and I'm in love with what I do.
I'm not sure how photography became a part of who I am, but it did. From a young age, I've enjoyed the art of photography. My family has invested in quality photography over multiple generations and pulling out old photos and watching slides on the refrigerator at my granny's house are some of my earliest, happiest memories. To me, photography is a gift. It's a way to preserve your life and your history and pass it down to generations that you may never even meet. How incredible is that? I've never viewed myself as a sentimental person, but I realize that photography is where my sentimentality holds strongest.
Photographers are the documenters of history, the tellers of all of our stories. We capture a view of life today, of these moments that we're living. Everyone has heard the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words," but I think it's worth more than that. In the grand scheme of history, maybe the photographs are worth more than the letters on the pages. Photographs don't lie, they don't deceive. They are moments in time, preserved forever.
If you choose to book a session with me, I will be doing more than taking your photos. I will be crafting and styling a unique session, just for you. I will cultivate a gallery that illustrates the narrative of this moment in your life. I'm not here to just take your picture, I'm here to create art with you. It's a collaboration, every time. I can't wait to document history with you.
